Team17's artillery series took a simple premise, lob grenades at the enemy across destructible terrain, and built one of gaming's most enduring party staples around it. This games-only collection runs from the 1995 original through more than two decades of sequels, and the through-line is comic cruelty: squads of cartoon worms armed with bazookas, exploding sheep, and the infamous Holy Hand Grenade, taking turns blowing each other off the map.

The 2D entries are the heart of it, with Worms Armageddon still treated as the definitive version by its competitive community. The series has experimented with 3D, real-time twists, and even crazy golf, usually to remind everyone the turn-based formula was right all along. It is best played in a room full of friends turning on each other.
