Nicholas Hoult's Luthor turns public opinion against the alien in their midst, and Superman has to win people back with help from Lois, his colleagues and a super-powered dog. Rachel Brosnahan and Nathan Fillion round out the cast. Gunn plays it warm and bright, betting that sincerity still sells.
