Devil May Cry
Capcom built Devil May Cry almost by accident, out of an experiment too flashy to fit Resident Evil, and the result codified the stylish-action genre. Dante's gun-and-sword combos, the letter-grade style meter, and a tone that treats demon-slaying as a rock concert all start here. The mainline games chart a clear arc from the original through DMC3's prequel origin to DMC4 and the celebrated DMC5, while Ninja Theory's DmC reboot offered a sharper, more punkish reading of the character. Beyond the controller, the property reaches into television twice: a 2007 anime and a 2025 Netflix series, plus crossover roster spots in fighting games. The throughline is attitude. Few franchises commit this hard to the idea that combat should look like showing off, and CrossBinge maps every appearance.
The Devil May Cry franchise spans 2 series, 8 games in the CrossBinge catalog.
